Greetings from Atmanirbhar Global Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AGCCI) . You are aware that Corona Pandemic has had an unprecedented adverse impact on global health and economy. India has not remained immune from it and is fighting these challenges with exceptional resilience. We have witnessed tremendous slowdown of our country, our cities and our businesses, with devastating effects on many sectors of our economy. The pain of losing precious lives will remain for long
With a view to mitigate the adverse effects of the COVID which still continue, Hon'ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi made a clarion call to the nation with a new Vision "Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan" which is nearly translated as Self Reliant India. But this time this is different in approach and extant since India is looking to develop her competitive edge in manufacturing and services sectors in order to be an integral part of the robust , reliable and resilient global value and supply chains. To help the economy recover from the impact of COVID 19, PM had announced the special economic and comprehensive packages equivalent to 10% of India's GDP. Several production linked schemes have been introduced .The package include a mix of stimulus measures, liquidity support to MSMEs, and structural reforms in many sectors to strengthen the country's domestic manufacturing ecosystem and integrate itself .The initiatives will indeed provide a much needed boost towards making India Atmanirbhar.
I was happy to note that the promoters have decided to establish a new Start Up in the form of Atmanirbhar Global Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AGCCI) with a view to promote Atmanirbhar vision of the Hon'ble Prime Minister and to apprise and facilitate its membership to take advantage of various initiatives launched under the Mission based on five Pillars- economy, infrastructure, technology driven system, vibrant demography and demand, AGCCI has been formed, in line with this vision, to make its business community members self reliant and independent. The objective is to help create and provide business friendly environment and platform for exchange of views, ideas and expectations among our business members and foreign investors. traders, exhibitors, chambers, and other industry and trade organizations.
AGCCI have promised to represent the interests and concerns of businesses to the Government, to take advocacy positions on crucial issues, and to communicate with States and local government to ensure a win-win framework while working with their international partners.
I am pleased to accept the invitation to be the Non-Executive Chairman of AGCCI and wish you all a productive and mutually beneficial association with the new Chamber whose promoters have proved their mettle in arranging important B2B interactions with foreign businesses as well as organised large number of exhibitions abroad and in India. I do hope the AGCCI will remain true to its vision and mission.
